About Kanji Flash

Kanji Flash organizes kanji into themed decks and progressive sets so you can study with structure rather than memorizing characters at random.

Each kanji page shows readings, meanings, useful vocabulary, and related characters — giving you enough context to learn effectively and know when to look deeper.

Kanji Flash is for anyone studying Japanese who wants a clear, structured way to build kanji knowledge — from beginners learning their first characters to intermediate learners revisiting gaps.

Whether you are preparing for the JLPT, reading practice, or personal interest, the themed paths help you focus on what matters to your goals.

Kanji are organized into themed Decks (such as "Numbers & Counting" or "Weather & Seasons"), which are grouped into larger Sets that represent progressive learning stages.

You can browse freely, follow a recommended study path, or jump into practice mode. Your progress is saved locally in your browser — no account required.

Kanji Flash is maintained by Septian Ganendra S. K. (sepTN), a software engineer, open-source contributor to the Godot Engine, and creator of the Jepang.org ecosystem of Japanese-learning tools.

The project is guided by a practical philosophy: keep pages fast, present data honestly, acknowledge limitations, and improve the tool when learners report problems.

Kanji Flash builds on reliable dictionary data from the EDRDG project (JMdict, KANJIDIC) and the kanji-data package, with study structure, vocabulary curation, and multilingual copy added by the Kanji Flash team.
