Privacy Policy

Kanji Flash is designed as a public kanji learning tool that works without an account. This page explains what stays in your browser, what the site may process when you visit, and what third-party services are involved.

This policy reflects the current Kanji Flash app, including its privacy-first Simple Analytics script. If advertising, accounts, or other data-collecting features are added later, this page should be updated before those features go live.

1. Privacy Overview

You can browse cards, decks, sets, archive pages, and practice screens without creating an account or sending a personal profile to Kanji Flash.

The app stores learning progress locally in your browser so the dashboard, practice history, and review state can work on the same device.

2. No Account Required

Kanji Flash does not currently provide registration, login, paid checkout, subscriptions, or user profile pages.

Because there is no account system, Kanji Flash does not ask for passwords, payment details, government identity numbers, or billing information.

3. Browser Storage and Learning Progress

Kanji Flash uses browser storage for theme and accent preferences, active study slots, card progress, practice sessions, levels, experience, and last-practiced timestamps.

This learning data stays in your browser unless you clear site data, switch browsers, use a private browsing session, or choose to export/import a save file yourself.

4. Practice Data and Exported Saves

Practice answers update local progress so the app can show what needs review, what you already know, and how recent sessions went.

Exported .ikf save files may contain your slot names, progress records, session history, and related learning state. Keep those files private if you do not want other people to see your study activity.

5. Technical Requests and Site Data

When pages load, Kanji Flash may request same-site data files and site resources for cards, decks, search, dashboard data, styles, scripts, and images.

Hosting, CDN, security, and browser infrastructure may process normal technical request data such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamps, and error information to deliver and protect the site.

6. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

Kanji Flash uses Simple Analytics to understand basic page visits and site usage without advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. The script is loaded with Do Not Track collection enabled.

Simple Analytics may process limited visit data such as visited pages, referrers, country, device, and browser information for aggregated site statistics. Kanji Flash does not use Google Analytics, Umami, AdSense, gtag, or ad profiling scripts.

Browser storage used for learning progress is separate from analytics and is used for the local study experience, not for building an ad profile. For Simple Analytics details, read Simple Analytics Privacy Policy.

7. Third-Party Services and External Links

Kanji Flash loads Google Fonts for typography. Your browser may contact Google font servers when those font files are requested.

The footer and structured site identity link to external Jepang.org social profiles and related sites. Those services have their own privacy practices when you leave Kanji Flash.

8. Contact and Policy Updates

For privacy questions, contact [email protected] and include the Kanji Flash page or feature involved when that helps explain the issue.

This policy may change when Kanji Flash changes how it stores progress, uses third-party services, or adds new features that affect privacy.
